Well, it looks like the worries we had about our party being a flop were unfounded and the response we received was
definitely a bit overwhelming, to say the least.
We would like to thank everyone who helped us pull this off including those of you who attended. Without all of you, it would not have worked.
After all is said and done, and all the bills paid, it looks like we netted about $3,000 for CCI sports (give or take a couple hundred). It hasn't been calculated to the penny yet but it's close.
We are still working on the logistics of how it should be used, split up into an annual bursary fund for individuals, given as a lump sum to the athletic department to spend as they see fit, put towards a needed piece of equipment, or a combination of the above, etc etc.
At least school is out for the summer so we have a bit of breathing room to decide.
Thanks again and please read on for some of the feedback we have received.
Yours in Fondness,
Lorraine, Frank, Vincent, Eunice, DJ Lenny, Ray & Reg

Thank you SOOO much for all your help on Friday night. I think we gave people a pretty good time to remember! I was amazed at all the people who approached us with such positive feedback.
...
Again, thank you and all those involved at the Legion for you work and help in what turned out to be a great night.
Lorraine (Sheffield)
Thanks so much for for all of your hard work putting on such an awesome party last night at the legion. Job well done!!! Was great to reconnect with everyone.
Jan Minduik
Thanks to those crazy Sheffield Kids !!! Had an absolute blast from beginning to end.
Rick (Barrett) and Marie
Frankie Sheffield....it was so good to see you again after all these years! You
still look (and act) the same!! I've thought of you over the years, and am
pleased to see you're doing well.
I'm so glad I had an opportunity to attend; it was absolutely mind-boggling
seeing so many old friends. I couldn't sleep a wink going over and over the
night and who I saw. I felt like I've never missed a beat; makes me want to
move back and just carry on!
Thanks for this opportunity, Frank. You, Billy Owens, Dennis Fish, Trisha
Boyce, Debbie Smith, Liz and Rob Ring, Steve Assaff, Irene Burnside and on and
on and on.....
You take care and don't forget to include me in the next Ripple, k?

Hi guys,
Just wanted to drop a line to let you all know how much it meant to me to see all of you again and to spend some time with all of you. I hadn't realized how much I loved and missed you all and that I can never let that kind of time come between us again. Jerry and I talked endlessly on the way home and had some of the best chuckles that we have had in years. Please pass this on to Wendy as well since I dont have her email address. Hope to see you all very soon.
Love Sylvia (Horvath)
Hi Frank,
Lou and I just wanted to thank you and your family for hosting such a great party!! I hope you were able to visit with all your old friends in between all that hard work. The night certainly flew by and it looked as though a great time was had by all! There were so many there, it was tough to get the chance to talk to everyone. Maybe next time, it’ll have to be a whole weekend party!
Anyway, thanks a million and maybe our paths will cross again sometime in the future!
Shelly (Burmister)
p.s. Hope everyone behaved themselves!!
Great party! You guys did a great job!
I think it should become an annual event!
Cheers,
Lainie Kerr Gibson
Good morning Frank!
I just wanted to write you a note and THANK YOU for organizing the 57 Ripple party. I had more fun than I've had in years. So good to see people I hadn't set eyes on for 35 years. And so good to see you again! You look great.
Last night both Heide and Sylvia Horvath got away before we had a chance to exchange e-mails. I was hoping that you have their e-mails and would forward them on to me. After all these years I don't want to lose touch with them again.
Anyways, thanks again for making all that happen. You're a saint man!!! Take care Frank.

Wow! That was a blast! We had an absolutely great time on Friday night. Thank you so very much to those crazy Sheffields for doing all the work. Regrets-no Mustang Sally!

Frank:
What an event!!!! Just had to let you know that I enjoyed myself immensely.
It was so great to get to renew old acquaintances with so many people
throughout the evening. I've heard nothing but rave reviews over the rest
of the weekend. Well, not entirely true, there were several regrets by
people who didn't attend!
I had a little chat with your Mom. We talked about each other's families
and I also took the opportunity to remind her that I was always the sweet,
shy, quiet one so that any mischief we got into had to have been your fault!
Seems I still didn't get to chat with you for long. You were so busy and
always in high demand.
Anyway, be sure to pass along my kudos for such a fine event to the rest of
your family and the others who worked behind the scene. It certainly was a
hit.
Someone referenced it as the "Woodstock" of Collingwood parties.
You know, now that you've been through it once, the second one won't be so
hard to do. If you do undertake to do this again, let me know. I'd gladly
volunteer to help out in some way and I'd be first in line for tickets.
Regards,
John Brough
Hi Frank!!!!
Thanks to you and your family for friday night. I had a great

fantastic party guys and ladies!!!
Thank you!!!!

I would just like to say what an excellent time I had on Friday night. You did a brilliant job putting this party together!
Now that you have started the ripple, let me know when the next one is.
Take care

Frank:
My mother called last night to ask for a favor. She didn’t get a chance to talk to you on Friday and since she is “off line” asked me to send you a note of thanks.
Norma wanted me to tell you and your wonderful family that she had the best time in years. Thinking she would only be at the Legion an hour or so, Mom was there almost ‘till the end.
Great job Sheffield family, many thanks from Norma and the rest of the Barrett tribe.
Best Regards
Mikey
Hey Frank,
I just wanted to say Thank You to you and your family for putting on such a great party. I only found out about it a couple days before but managed to get a ticket from Tim Fryer and I am really glad I did. It was wonderful to see so many people I knew and hadn't seen for many years. I didn't realize how many people I still knew up there and it really made me want to move back. Maybe one day!
Anyway thanks again and let me know if you ever have another one.
Best Regards,
Frank McDonald
Just wanted to say what A Great Time the Ripple was,it was great to see people I haven't seen in years
I can only imagine all the hard work you all did, You did a Great Job
I heard that some people are requesting one every year!!
Thanks again
Karen Galipeau (Walmsley)
Frank and the rest of the Sheffields:
Thanks so much for organizing this party. It really was great to see so many people from the past. It's too bad that events like this happen infrequently over a life time, but I suppose that is what makes them special. If we all saw each other all the time, we would no doubt have the slighlty cranky attitude that familiarity can breed.(or maybe it's just me who is a natural born crank).
Anyway, thanks again. All the best.
Stephen Christie
Hey Frank:
Saw your Mom and sisters at the dinner on Saturday night. Said thank you (without slurring my words like when I talked to you at the end of the ripple) for a great evening.
Pretty rough shape for the rest of the homecoming festivities after the Ripple. Glad you and the guys didn’t come over after the Legion, wouldn’t have got any sleep and you wouldn’t have made your golf game the next day. Did Rothy make it up and out the next morning in time for the dance recital?
I’m still recovering!
Thanks very much to you and your family. That was an historic event.
Talk to you soon.
Tim Fryer
Frank,
I know you and Lorraine put the lion’s share into the organizing of Ripple and just wanted to say thanks to you; and thanks to your lovely wife for sharing you with us. I think that’s the best party I’ve been to since my own wedding reception!!! Good job, Frank. Good job. I posted a veritable TON of pics on Facebook. Lorraine should be able to access them and download and share if she likes them.
...
Thanks Again,
Your friend,
Susan Augustowitsch (McFadyen)
My cousins, sister and friends...please pass these along to everyone. Also, Frankie, I have sent both the untouched and retouched pictures in case you want to use them on other sites and adjust them however you please.
What a blast! And why does Vince look like he just inhaled in all of his pictures?!?!? haha

Hey - that was the highlight of the weekend!! Congrats on making your event the best of the Reunion.

Dear Frank,
I just wanted to say thanks for all the work that you and your family and friends put into the ’57 Ripple party. It was AMAZING! I couldn’t believe how much some of us have changed and it was incredible to see so many faces and share old stories. (I have posted a bunch of pictures on my Facebook site).
I so appreciate the fact that you had extra tickets available as I wasn’t able to make the Saturday night event, so Friday was very special.
Again thanks and if you are ever planning another reunion, I will be glad to help out!
A great big HUG!

Hello!
I just arrived home from Canada yesterday. On Sunday after the party (of the century) we went up north to Frank and Karen's cottage and spent the rest of our vacation there. I just wanted to congratulate you and thank for such a great time! Ripple 57 was a huge success! I can't remember the last time I had such fun. I saw people that I hadn't seen in over thirty years. I am sure you have received many letters such as mine. Any way I want to thank you and your family for throwing such a great party. If you ever think of doing this again, count me in!
Now, it is back to life in the real world. Once again, thanks! Please stay in touch and by the way number 33 (in the slide show with a vollyball up her shirt) is Cindy Duffin.
Take care,
Rebecca

Frank,
Just wanted to commend you, Lorraine, Eunice and all your family on what a great party. People are still talking about it. It certainly was the highlight of the weekend. Hope we can do it again sometime down the road. It was so wonderful to see everyone. Job well done!!!!!
Susan and Rick Lloyd
P.S. Let Lorraine know that we are finally grandparents, a little girl last Saturday. I don’t have her e-mail.
Thanks.
Thank you all so much...still talking about it.
Sandy and Nancy Dance
Hi Frank,
Just a note to let you know what fun the party was. I haven't seen many of those people in 30 years. Great party, great timing. Do it again sometime. Thank you very much. You helped to create some new memories.
Meta Gieseler (Kaat)
Kudos to the Sheffield Family! What a party it was. You guys worked so hard and did an amazing job. Thank-you.
I am so glad I was there to see so many great friends that I hadn't seen in over 30 years. Sally, Laurie, Jill, Gail, Terry, it's like we hadn't missed a beat since the good old years. Some of you have been friends of mine since kindergarten and it was wonderful to reconnect. I wish the night hadn't gone so fast! Keep in touch --
Dennis Fish - you haven't changed a bit!!
Thanks again to the Sheffield Family. When's the next one?

Just thought I would send you a note to say "Thank You" so much for the one of the best times in my life.
It was great to see everyone again........ looking like their parents ....Ha! Ha!
It was also great to see so many people come from so many different places.
Also, thanks for the golf & barbeque on Saturday.
At the next 57 Ripple if you need my help I'll be there, please let me know.
Your Friend & Buddy

... a special thank you to your entire family and the staff at the Legion for helping make that an incredibly memorable evening. Don’t think I’ve ever met such an enthusiastic DJ, Lenny did an incredible job. It was a great way start to my holiday in Collingwood. Needless to say I didn’t get to talk to or see everyone I wanted to but I think the suggestion of another one would be great, maybe in a couple of years?
It was good to reconnect.

Dear Frank & Val,
WOW! Those "Crazy Sheffield Kids" and their families sure do know how to throw a party! We had an absolutely wonderful time! Everyone we talk to says the same. You seem to be the common denominator - the "glue" - that kept all of 57 Ripple members together. It must have been a huge undertaking but also a huge success!
Thanks for a great and memorable party!
Sincerely,
Frank & Karen Milligan (Strandhold)

Congrats on a fantastic night.....for all who attended and had a blast.....and that should include everyone there... this party did not just happen.....the planning took place over a number of months....in Nov 07 when Lorraine asked how many could get into the Legion Aud.and was told 300....she said "We'll never get 300 people there" how wrong she was!!!!!!
This was the event of the weekend and of the year....it was so good to see so many people return to renew friedships and catch up with old friends......no mater where we all end up....we all remember where we came from.
......till the next "Ripple" Rob and Pat Graham

Deb has been keeping me informed on life after "57" Ripple. Hope all is well and that after all that hard work you are all rested up. It was a great party and wonderful to see you. Deb told me she saw a picture of your beautiful kids, look out world.
